People know downtown Delray Beach as one of the hottest dining and entertainment spots in South Florida. With its vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of eateries, it’s a must-visit for food enthusiasts. This year, Downtown Delray Beach is stepping up its game with 14 new restaurants joining the scene. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these new additions are sure to make your Delray Beach dining experience even more memorable.
Downtown Delray Beach Dining: What’s New?
Back in 2023, there were 74 restaurants between Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove. This year, the number is growing with 14 new restaurants opening their doors. Last year brought the city’s first Michelin chef, and this year, downtown Delray Beach is welcoming its second Michelin chef near the beach. The restaurant scene here is thriving, and this season promises even more excitement.
Let’s take a cruise and show you some of the new restaurants coming to Delray…
The Delray Beach Market Makeover
The Delray Beach Market, initially featuring 25 small restaurants, is undergoing a transformation. The new version is bringing in Bounce Sports Bar and Grill, and recently opened Lefkes, a Mediterranean-Greek spot. Located on the Southeast side of Atlantic next to the train tracks, this area is beginning to buzz again with activity.
Atlantic Crossing Expansions
Atlantic Crossing, on Atlantic Ave and the intracoastal waterway, is becoming a hub for new dining spots. Alongside well-known names like Le Colonial and Hampton Social, Gabrielleβs Modern Italian Cuisine is set to open, adding another layer to the downtown Delray Beach Italian dining options.
For those who miss The OG, The Standard is now open bringing American cuisine to the neighborhood, offering a great spot for a relaxed afternoon meal or happy hour cocktails.
Pineapple Grove’s Hidden Gem
Pineapple Grove has been a bit of a mystery in the past, but things are changing in a big way! There are a few strategic locations on NE 2nd Ave that promise to add more vibrancy to this already bustling area. Keep you eye on the corner of NE 2nd Ave and NE 1st Street. The property is fenced off now, but could be the finest location for something new in 2025.
The Ray Hotel changed owners in mid-September so look for new, exciting things to come. Plus there’s a stretch of a half-dozen doors that’ve been closed for a few years. I’m plugged into whatever new announcement may come.
This area of downtown Delray Beach has perhaps the most potential for new developments. Just take a stroll along this 4-block area and you’ll get it.
What’s New on Atlantic Avenue?
Atlantic Avenue, the heart of Downtown Delray Beach, is buzzing with new openings. The former Tavern Opa Greek Restaurant is transforming into the Roka Hulu Modern Asian Tiki Bar, expected to open before the new year.
Next to Roccos Tacos and Park Tavern, the well-known Salt 7 is being replaced by Kapow Noodle Bar, set to open in the late fall. For those who remember the Cuban Cabana Grill, itβs making way for Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, set to open by December.
Seagate Hotel’s New Michelin Star Chef
The Seagate Hotel on Atlantic Avenue, close to A1A, is getting a major upgrade with the addition of Chef Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak Restaurant. Set to replace the Atlantic Grill. This Michelin-star chef’s restaurant is set to open this high season, offering a new level of luxury in the Delray Beach dining scene.
Tropical Smokehouse on the West Side
On West Atlantic, across from the fire station, the Tropical Smokehouse is coming soon. This spot, by a group from West Palm Beach, will offer a unique culinary experience perfect for those living just east of I-95 and west of Swinton.
A Quick Shout-Out to The Cebiche Co
Cebiche is a small, tucked-away spot on the east side of Atlantic Avenue, heading towards A1A. It’s Peruvian-owned and serves up delicious Peruvian ceviche, adding another exotic flavor to the Downtown Delray dining scene.
Pura Vida Miami is now open in downtown Delray Beach. On the corner of Atlantic Ave and A1A is the ultimate spot for beachgoers and tourists. Nice beachy vibe in a clean, casual setting with a menu you’ll love.
High Season Excitement
Downtown Delray Beach is gearing up for a bustling high season. During the summer, things might seem quiet, but the city is preparing for a massive influx of visitors and diners. With the new restaurants and construction underway, the Delray Beach dining scene is about to get even more exciting. From 74 restaurants a year and a half ago to nearly 90 soon, Delray Beach is a foodie paradise.
