The thought of relocating to another city can be daunting or downright stressful. But it doesn’t need to be. I’ve done it plenty of times in my life. I’ve learned a lot and I speak with experience from all my travels. So if you need some easy relocation tips, watch the video above.
I this video I talk about how my wife and I relocated to Costa Rica back in 2004. While most family and friends thought we were nuts and it’d be “too difficult”, it was easy. Let me make it easy for you – we made the decision to move and the rest followed. That’s it. Once we did that, we reached out to friends there who already made the moved and asked everyone for relocation tips to help us. Done.
For you, I break it down into 6 east steps in the video. And below I’ll add some bonus ideas.
Before you make the commitment, it’s a great idea to contact me. I’ve been there, done it… and can share more stories that will support you in your journey. You are not alone, so lean on me like I did with others for great relocation tips. Next, identify your needs. Most of this is for where you would like to live: near the beach, country club, condo, HOA’s or not. And if a Condo is your flavor, this may be a good resource to know more.
Next is to let me build your property search right away. We can weed out a lot of bad information and save you time. The next two are simple: let’s see properties together and make sure your finances are ready. There’s no reason to wait on these two as getting the place you’ll call home identified is one of the most important steps of all.
And to make it all easy for you, lean on me to direct you in the right direction. If you need help locating schools, city organizations, shopping ideas etc… ask.
And one of my favorite relocation tips… is to just have fun! One way to make sure you don’t get lost in the minutia is to remember you’re going to live in one of the most fun beach towns in America. So do yourself a huge favor and go enjoy our beach…
When I made the move from Costa Rica to Delray Beach I, too, got great relocation tips. But looking back I didn’t act on a couple of them: Walk the downtown area every week for the first couple months and partake in our Farmers Market or Old School Square events.
By doing these you’ll be reminded of why you chose Delray Beach and two… you will get plenty of local interaction. And you may just meet a friend.
Take these relocation tips to heart. There’s no need to “go it alone” and make it difficult. After all, once you pave your way, you’ll have family or friends asking you for the same help one day. Most likely sooner than later.
