There are TWO colors that will dominate Delray Beach real estate in 2023… and April.
*** To start, the color we paint our homes in 2023 is trending in a new direction. In an essay by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), “The majority of homeowners say they would like to lighten up their home’s exterior with a neutral color palette.”
1,400 homeowners completed a survey about exterior home paint colors. The graph above shows the results and a shift in the market. Over the last decade, gray was the top color as architecture went from tradition to modern-contemporary themes. But the color gray is getting old and a new color is taking over. And if you’ve toured homes in the Delray Beach real estate market lately… you’ll understand why.
Neighborhood after neighborhood in the Delray Beach real estate market an old home is bought, demolished and replaced with a modern-contemporary home. When this “out with the old, in with the new” transformation occurs, it happens with similar architectural styles that’s becoming a theme throughout the city. Take a look:
Now, I love gray – my wife and I painted the interior of our beachside home gray. We tossed in a bohemian theme to keep it “beachy.” But my wife and I lost our attachment to gray as we started to blend with others.
Off-white/cream and browns are now the top choice. If you add up those categories, 38% of homeowners are choosing brown tones. So, if you want to be a trend-setter in your neighborhood… you’ll create conversations by choosing browns.
Delray Beach Real Estate Market Celebrates Earth Month
*** As for April – it’s Earth Month. You could also say it’s “green month.” April 22nd is the official Earth Day celebration. But, Delray Beach is making it an entire month event.
